His leadership roles span numerous organizations and committees, including Deputy Mayor of Poway; Chair, Palomar Pomerado Tri-Regional Health Care Advisor Council; Vice President, San Diego Prevention Coalition; Poway Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross Blue Ribbon Committee, and San Diego Public Utilities Commission, to name a few. 

Jay is a Certified Financial Planner, and is consultant to both public works consulting firm PBS&J, as well as strategic planning, consensus building and action planning firm Adams & Adams.
